CATHERINE GARDNER - Online Memorial Website

  Catherine Herron Gardner, daughter of the late James d and Katherine Herron was born April 29, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri.
  At an early age she confessed her faith in christ. Catherine was baptized and joined Wastside Missionary Baptist Church were she served as the secretary for the Sunday School department and sang in the Youth Forum Choir. She a had a great love for God very deep rooted faith in Jesus Christ and his gospel teaching. She studied God's Word and had strong convictions.
   She was united in holy matrimony to Zenotha Gardner on September 18, 1956. To this reunion four children were born, Desiree, Zenotha, Kathy and Jamie. In addition to her children she also cherished two sisters Beatrice Ingram and Lemonia Jones.
  She was a talented artist and enjoyed reading and creative writing. She enjoy life to to the fullest. Traveling back and forth to Tennessee visting relatives Family gatherings with family and friends. She always would welcome late night visits from her grandchildren,newphews and friends who tend to stop by after hours. Catherine was a people person, she enjoyed telling her children and grandchildren their family history and stories of the past. She was a beautiful person inside and out, she could make you laugh and she could make you cry in her story telling. Her door was always open to whomever wanted to stop by.
For a cup coffee, a meal, a friendly smile or a place to rest, she was always there. She kept the telephone at her side for those who couldn't stop by, they could call her any time of day or night, she would answer her telephone for conversation.
   Catherine said her goodbyes and entered the land of eternal rest and peace Monday July 23rd. She was a strong Leader and a great blessing to her family for 74 years.
